I want to receive feedback by: AO3 comment, as it will be easier for me to find in future.
Here are the works I want feedback on:
You can find my works on AO3 at
flowerdeluce. Anything I've published from (and including) 2018 onwards—that is not a drabble, double or triple drabble, or drabble series/collection—is up for grabs. Out of those, I have a slight preference for feedback on the following works, but will appreciate feedback on any fic(s) you choose:
- Finishing (Touches) - Night at the Museum (4.2k)
- Fragments - Russian Doll (3.4k)
- Submergence (Reprise) - The Book of Mormon (2.9k)
Should you feel inclined to read something 10k+, I’m also interested in feedback on: Stages – Reservoir Dogs (12.5k)
My safe works: The Intricacies of Pleasure – Star Trek: The Next Generation (Movies); An unworthy substitute - Kingsman (Movies); Confidence - Independence Day (Movies); any drabbles, double and triple drabbles, or drabble series/collections.
My works' fandoms and content notes are:
Written for 2+ times: Star Trek: The Next Generation; Independence Day (Movies); Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (TV & Novel); Outcast (TV 2016)
Written for once, at time of posting: Black Mirror – ‘Be Right Back’ episode; Heat (1995); LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS – ‘Zima Blue’ episode; Night at the Museum (Movies); Palo Santo – Years & Years (Music Video); Reservoir Dogs (1992); Russian Doll (TV 2019); The Book of Mormon – Parker/Stone/Lopez; The Duellists (1977); Westworld (TV)
Anything I post before the end of the event is fair game, too.
Content notes: I tag thoroughly. If you have any questions regarding a fic’s content, I’ll happily clarify.
I have these questions for readers:
Any feedback is appreciated; it doesn’t have to answer all or any of the below questions. I’d appreciate if you told me what worked too. While it’s great to hear where I can improve, it’s also nice to know where I’m on the right track.
General questions:
- First impressions of title, tags, and summary.
- Did the opening pull you in? Can you suggest ways I could’ve avoided an infodump if there is one?
- Pacing – any feedback appreciated.
- When did I tell when I should've shown?
- Do I overuse anything that stands out? E.g. sentence structure, words/phrases, dialogue tags, punctuation, etc.
- I worry my prose can be lifeless sometimes. How might I have injected more colour into a stale scene?
- What would’ve made you backbutton if it weren’t for concrit-x!
I would prefer gentle (5) or direct (1) feedback, or something in between: 2-5
