We are very very close to the goal of 2+ pieces of concrit for everyone who signed up - there are just a few gaps and extensions. Congratulations!

Now
-Please keep an eye on the comm for pinch hit requests. ETA - No pinch hits to claim.
-Treats are welcome! Please feel free to give more feedback. And if nothing currently available quite suits your mood but you'd like to leave more crit, please get in touch - I have details for some other/hidden requests.
-Respond, if you like! Many of us taking part in this event are polishing our skills at constructive criticism, so it's useful to know if the feedback worked.

Soon
On May 15, if everyone has 2+ pieces of concrit, I'll put up a feedback post and a Madness post. Though if you have general feedback you want to share now, go ahead.

Some people have opted to unscreen comments on May 15. I'll include a reminder of that on the next post.

Thank you all - this has been great!

I want to receive feedback by: DW comment

Here are the works I want feedback on (optional: and my safe works are...):

Complete works posted on AO3 after mid-2014. Filtered link here. For AO3 works, I'd prefer to get concrit here. Safe stories to exclude: Six Seeds; Red Sky at Morning; The Fine Print

If you've got loads of time and want to read a novel-length WIP, I'm working on a Regency f/f romance featuring identity porn, crossdressing, and marriage of convenience here: [personal profile] linneacarls. Feedback can go straight in the comments there.

My works' fandoms and content notes are:

The Queen's Thief; Jane Austen; Magnus Archives; Original Works; Rivers of London; a variety of smaller fandoms. Stories on AO3 are generally tagged or have notes for anything canon-atypical. The original WIP contains references to two instances of sexual violence, both of which occur before the story, neither of which was committed against the POV character.

I have these questions for readers:

I love writing pastiche and changing up my style based on the fandom and type of story. Would appreciate notes on how the chosen voice, POV, and style does or doesn't work. For example, in Rivers of London, I've written three stories with three different POVs, and I tried to make them all very specific to the chosen character. I'd love to hear ways in which that served, or failed to serve, any individual story.

I'd also love comments on pacing, characterization, and clarity of plot. For exchange stories, I'm often trying to convey a sense of larger events/context in a limited number of words and would like to know if that is or isn't successful. For the novel-length WIP, a sense of when it gets bogged down or repetitive, or when something needs more time. I love wordsmithing, so detailed feedback on phrasing, sentence and paragraph structure, rhythm, etc. is welcome. (It's possibly less useful for the novel-length WIP, which is completely unedited, but I'm open to it.)

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: Anything from gentle to extremely critical feedback is fine!

Here are the works I want feedback on (and my safe works are...):
I would love feedback on my more recent fics (except safe works), especially what I posted from 2017-present. Some of the fandoms I've written for overall are:
World Trigger (Anime & Manga): Play Rough, Play Nice; Hummingand you still followed me away; Golden Spiral
BNHA: Darker Strains of Mercy (wip)
The Untamed: if you’re gonna get me addicted (you have my permission)
Daiya no A: hot air always risesMonster Rookie
Hana no Mizo Shiru | Only the Flower Knows: Sun-awaiting
Ping Pong the Animation: love the second glances
Ajin: Passion Grip
Durarara!!
Haikyuu
Attack on Titan

I’ve written for many other random fandoms as well: Here’s a link to my AO3 profile without any filtering.
However, if there’s a ship, fandom, or particular tag that you’re familiar with/particularly excited about reading and the fic is older than 2017, feel free to go for that. Anything except my safe works is fair game.
My safe works are (no feedback please!): Cold Eyes, I seek the veins beneath your skin, Forwards or Better, Crossing Borders.
Here’s a link to my fics with the “safe” ones filtered out.

My works' fandoms and content notes are:
I’ve written a variety of things, including a lot of porn. My works generally have content tags. There are a couple fics that are tagged cntw along with other tags. If you have a question about anything content-related before reading, I’m happy to answer.

I have these questions for readers:
(Please don’t feel like you have to answer all of these, but I’m interested in your thoughts on any of them.)
  • What did you think/feel about the summary and title before you read the fic? Did this change after having read the fic?
  • I’m interested in your emotional reactions as you read the fic. What surprised you? What worked for you or what didn’t?
  • How clear was the plot, or the characters’ motivations, or the physicality of what was happening?
  • What sense of writing style did you get? I feel like my style is very different from fic to fic since I try to change it to fit the canon or story, so I am always interested in how it comes off.
  • If you know the canon, how do you feel like it relates to canon? If you don’t know the canon, what are your impressions of the characters just from my fic?
  • What did you think of the dialogue/prose?
  • Anything else that you felt while reading?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is:
I’m interested in your honest impressions, whether they’re good or bad. However, I wouldn’t like to receive just harsh criticism. If you want to focus on areas of improvement, that’s great for me, but please let me know what you enjoyed as well.

I’m not interested in SPAG feedback. (That said, if you notice a typo, I would not be offended if you pointed it out *sweatdrop*)

Overall, I would also love if you could be as specific as you can. If something worked for you or didn’t work for you, what specific elements in the fic contributed to forming that impression?

Quoting lines or passages is something I also would find helpful.

I want to receive feedback by :
- Comment on my DW post in this community
- Comment where the work is published (AO3)
- tumblr message (I’m Filigranka there) or on Discord (Filigranka#6634)
- if you know me on other fandom platform/mail, and prefer to reach me there, it’s fine.

Here are the works I want feedback on: Everything on my AO3 is a fair game.
https://archiveofourown.org/users/Filigranka - I have no safe works, feel free to comment on anything, drabbles, WIPs, one-shots, multichaptered fics... I write in Polish&English, and if you happen to know the first - or are brave enough to use online translators to read fics ;) - feedback about Polish works is welcome, too.

My works' fandoms and content notes are: I've written for dozens of fandom, in English and Polish, so probably using my Ao3's dashboard is the best way to check them all. The ones I have written the most for in English are The Witcher (games and books), Compilation of FFVII, Star Wars, especially sequel trilogy, Harry Potter, Silmarillion.

I write everything, from crack to dark, from gen to noncon porn with pretty kinky stuff, with a side of worldbuilding and politics in everything. These things are properly tagged and warned for on AO3.

Too long sentences aren't tagged, but believe me, there's plenty of them. ;)

I have these questions for readers: Any kind of feedback will be appreciated, but a general “SPAG mistakes” alone wouldn’t help me much, without explanation of a specific SPAG problem.

Any feedback about using descriptions (more. I know I need more, but how and where?) would be very appreciated. I struggle with summaries and tags a lot and will gladly take any advice about them.

I love all comments, including the ones focused on more formal side or focusing on the inter-workings or just a one sentence, so if you feel like going all nitpicky, don't restrain yourself. But I will just as happily read (and if my personal issues won't stop me, reply to) any interpretations, views of the characters and their relationships, digressions and discussions about worldbuilding, charactes or canon. Or your stream-of-consciousness-like impression about the fic.

Also, I can make a long list of the things I do wrong, but I have no idea what, if anything, I do right, so if there's something in my writing which can be commented upon positively - on a more general level, like "I like the % of the adjectives to verbs" or a specific one, like "having three verbs and one adjective in this sentence works as an emphasis of Y" (this is the most detached from real content of the fics exemple I could make ;)) - it'll probably help me, too.

Side-note: I love drabbles, getting a con-crit-treat on them would be just as awesome as critique on longer works.

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: Anything goes.

Here are the works I want feedback on (optional: and my safe works are...): Any of my works on AO3 except for Nobody Else. I'd especially love to receive feedback on An Unexpected Alliance (Original Work, explicit, 3.5k) but feedback on any of my works would be great.

My works' fandoms and content notes are: Mostly Marvel and Original Work with a few other fandoms. Many of my works are explicit and some deal with consent issues. I have a variety of shorter works as well.

I have these questions for readers: What works for you in my stories and what doesn't? Are there any obvious weak spots I need to work on? Thoughts on characterization? Do the emotions land for you? Any thoughts on prose? I'm also happy to get feedback on titles, summaries, and tags. Really, anything that comes up as something you want to mention is welcomed as feedback!

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: Anything goes for me, from focus on technical SPAG issues to general impressions on what you thought about a work. I'm fine with direct feedback, but it would be nice to hear what you liked alongside the flaws, and that the feedback has some specific direction on what ways I can improve if something is not working for you.

Here are the works I want feedback on: Here are my works. It would be most useful to me to get feedback on more recent works, say, within the last six years. But if you really want to do one of my older works, you can. What I would like most is to get feedback on my Flight of the Heron writing, but most of what I've done there is longfics, and I understand if you don't have the time for that! If you want, you could read the first 10,000 words or so of If Fate Should Reverse Our Positions. Or if you want something short and self-contained, you could do A Last Taste of Life. It's a different but tangentially related fandom, with a similar style. But if there's something else I've written which is in fandom you're in, or that you otherwise feel attracted to reading, do go with that.

My works' fandoms and content notes are: Most of my older work is in due South, but otherwise I mostly write in rarelit fandoms, currently the 18th century historical fandom Flight of the Heron. But in the last six years I've also written Star Wars, The Dark is Rising, Earthsea, Temeraire, etc. For content notes, check the fics, but I don't think I have any that apply to so many of my fics that they're worth mentioning. I write the full spectrum from porn to gen.

I have these questions for readers: Well, mostly I want to know things I didn't know to ask about! Like, if I knew it was an issue I suppose I would have worked more on it...but anyway, I'd love to get feedback about any aspects of style/plot/structure/characterization/setting.

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: A mix of positive and negative aspects is most useful to me.

Here are the works I want feedback on: Anything on my AO3 page, although I'd like to highlight (Leave You All) Severed if you're interested in reading medium-length Critical Role noncon/whump

My works' fandoms and content notes are: I write mostly explicit fic and a good deal of noncon, although I have a few G-T rated fics as well. Fandoms:
Critical Role (Web Series) (12)
Les Misérables - All Media Types (8)
The Magnus Archives (Podcast) (5)
Original Work (3)
The Terror (TV 2018) (3)
The Alienist (TV) (2)
Wooden Overcoats (Podcast) (2)
The Magnificent Seven (2016) (2)
Raven Cycle - Maggie Stiefvater (2)
Six of Crows Series - Leigh Bardugo (1)
IT (Movies - Muschietti) (1)
Les Misérables - Victor Hugo (1)
The Haunting of Hill House (TV 2018) (1)
Goblin Market - Christina Rossetti (1)
1917 (Movie 2019) (1)
Guardians of the Galaxy (Movies) (1)
Dublin Murders (TV) (1)
The Queen's Thief - Megan Whalen Turner (1)

I have these questions for readers: Do the fics feel fleshed out enough, or too short? Are there any weak spots you notice? Do they end too abruptly? But really any feedback would be great

Here are the works I want feedback on: Anything posted on my AO3, with a preference for works from 2020/2021 (though if you find an earlier work you really want to give feedback on, feel free!)

My works' fandoms and content notes are: Recent works are for The Old Guard, Hannibal, Veep, Everything I Never Told You, and the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. Ratings are T-E and relevant warnings and content notes are included in the tags and author notes of each work. The two stories marked CNTW don’t contain any archive warnings, but I would consider them to be major character death adjacent.

I have these questions for readers:
  • Were there any points of confusion or questions you had? Any moments or details that took you out of the story?
  • How is the pacing? Are there parts that drag? Parts that skip over too much or feel rushed?
  • Are character motivations clear? Do character responses seem realistic and do character arcs feel complete/satisfying? If you are familiar with the canon, are the characterizations/voices in-character?
  • Is the level of description appropriate? Are there places where you would like more/less description?
  • General flow and language use. Did you notice too much repetition of words, phrases, and/or sentence structure? Any recurrent or particularly distracting SPAG errors?
  • Any other comments, general impressions, or points of improvement

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: I’m open to any style of feedback, though I do prefer that there is some mention of the things that worked well in addition to areas to improve.

I want to receive feedback by : Comment on this post or ao3. (Comments are public on ao3 and screened on this post, to offer options for the visibility of the feedback.)

Here are the works I want feedback on: Anything on ao3 at https://archiveofourown.org/users/Rozzlynn

My works' fandoms and content notes are: The Magnus Archives, Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Devil Survivor, Madoka Magica, Pokemon. Some fics include heavy violence and abuse, while others are fluff, so there's a range to choose from in terms of the content.

I have these questions for readers:

  • How would you summarise what happened in the story? (Since this can help with judging whether the writing successfully communicates the story it's trying to tell.)

  • What sort of emotions does it evoke for the reader, and do the characters' emotional arcs feel satisfying to read about (whether they're sympathetic, evoke mixed feelings, or delve into horror/condemnation territory in a way that feels cathartic - or whether any of that falls flat in places).

  • Are there parts where the pacing and plot feel like they'd benefit from a few points being expanded upon for clarity, or condensed to be more concise?

  • Are there parts that brought up expectations/potential that didn't feel like it was resolved - either in an open ending that works anyway, or in an ending that feels like it would be better with more resolution, or in a way that seems like it'd be worth exploring in a follow-up piece?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is:

Feedback on how a story reads, especially clarity, pacing, emotional arcs and themes, plotholes and sense checking. What works well, and what could use more development. SPAG issues and other quick fixes are good too.

If there are times when it's hard to categorise one's feelings about a story into 'positive' and 'negative' columns, instead of just talking about subjective emotions, then this event could be a chance to chat without worrying whether you're correctly guessing what someone else might call 'negative' in the first place.

I want to receive feedback by : Email at Galadriel1010 at gmail.com, on Discord at Galadriel1010#1516, or in comments on this post or the works on AO3.
Here are the works I want feedback on :
Any work finished from Jan 2020 onwards on my AO3. Selected highlights within the length are:
Original Work: Angry Words in Darkened Cells f/f fantasy work – 715 words
David Blaize: Sun's Warmth - David/Frank, 1695 words
Sherlock: Give or Take Mycroft/Lestrade – 3060 words
Doctor Who: How We Say It Here Thirteenth Doctor/Yaz/Christina – 4189 words
Raffles: A Different Beat Raffles/Bunny – 6527 words

My works' fandoms and content notes are:
Currently write in Sherlock, Dragon Age, various bits of the Doctor Who universe, and a bit from small fandoms including Raffles, David Blaize and Rivers of London. I have only 2 explicit works, and one is Nine Lessons and Carol where the sex is one scene in nearly 50000 words.

I have these questions for readers:
- Do I manage to match the tone of the writing to the mood of the story?
- Does my dialogue sound in character if you know the fandom, or like real people if you're not familiar with them?
- Does the scene setting add to or detract from the narrative, or just sort of exist?
- For the full adventure stories (How We Say It Here and A Different Beat), does the story flow well, is the pacing alright, are they believable?
- For the more vignette pieces (Angry Words, Sun's Warmth and Give or Take), is there enough context in the story to frame it, or could I use more explanation?
- Sun's Warmth and A Different Beat are both attempts to pastiche the original writing – if you know them, do I hit that?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is:
Please be kind? Friendly? I would love to get into a deep discussion about writing styles and technique on Discord if you're up for it. I don't want all-negative feedback, but I am keen to know areas I can improve on.

I want to receive feedback by : On Ao3, though I don't mind if you want to duplicate it over here as well. (Duplicating it here's probably easier from a mod perspective as well.) I'm fine with anon comments.

Here are the works I want feedback on:
The Lindworm, The Witcher, 6,425 words, complete.
In the Witch's Tower, The Witcher, 1,201 words, complete.
Yenna, The Witcher, 20,555 words, complete.
The Sun Shines Differently, The Witcher/Dragon Age crossover, 1,113 words, one-shot series.
Encore, Castlevania show, 71,002 words, ongoing.
With joy shall I behold the day, that calls my willing soul away, Pokemon, 939 words, complete.
Sundown and the Shedding-Skin Woman, Pokemon, 3,056 words, complete.
The Point of No Return, Pokemon, 8,060 words, complete.
Another Verse, Pokemon, 80,066 words, ongoing.
The Best It Could've Gone, She-Ra, 2,488 words, complete.

Absolutely not opposed to comments on anything else including meta and even the most ancient stuff at the back.

For the multi-chapter ones, I'm fine with a comment on a chapter rather than the whole.

My works' fandoms and content notes are:

Mild gore, character death, abuse, science and biology heavy.

I have these questions for readers:

I'm most interested hearing whatever stood out to you.

I often go in an odd direction from canon but I do really like canon as a base. If you're familiar with a fandom, I'd like to know what you thought of how I characterized people or if there's something I missed in worldbuilding. And I value things hanging together in general, so even if you're fandom blind I'd like to hear how much the world/people/plot makes sense to you.

A number of my stories involve mildly unreliable narrators - ones who aren't lying, but whose viewpoints strongly color what they think is happening. I'm curious how well that works and your impression of the characters/situation.

I find rephrasing a sentence or giving examples of another way to handle a plot element very helpful for understanding what people mean when they point out a problem they've seeing.

For Another Verse in particular, the main character is meant to be walking a line where she wants other people hurt but she's limited in her actions to what's socially acceptable. I think I've been too conservative about what she could get away with and advice on how she could be worse would be great.

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is:

Blunt is fine. If you liked something, I'm happy to hear it, but if you have nothing nice to say, I'm happy to hear that too.

Here are the works I want feedback on: Honestly, anything! See what you like. They are here https://archiveofourown.org/users/SegaBarrett

My works' fandoms and content notes are: the top ones are Breaking Bad, Bates Motel, House MD, Queen, and Oz. Mostly everything is in the T range with a few explicit works. There are a few fics with warnings for Noncon and I think a few with Underage (for canonical backstory in Bates Motel, but nothing is super explicit. Spare a Little Candle is the one that gets the most into that pairing but it's largely fade-to-black).

I have these questions for readers: What should I include more of? Less of? What works? Where might I lose people?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: Load me up on praise first so the criticism hurts less :P

My works' fandoms and content notes are: Transformers Prime, character death, graphic violence

I have these questions for readers: How strong is the description/narrative voice? How distinct are the characters from each other (and if you're familiar with the fandom, how far off are the characters from their canon selves)? How's the pacing? What threw you off? Is the prose samey?

Here are the works I want feedback on (optional: and my safe works are...): Any fics posted on my main AO3 pseud from 2018 or later, excluding Smoke and Metal, Freeze Shock and More Than Clothes; here is a filtered view.

I would be especially interested in feedback on any of the following works:
  • A Good Brother (Genshin Impact, E, 2.6k)
  • Noblesse Oblige (Genshin Impact, E, 8.5k)
  • Safe Harbour (Kamen Rider Amazons, G, 3.1k)
  • Paradise Lost (Granblue Fantasy, E, 5k)
  • Vessel of Bonds (Granblue Fantasy, T, 10.6k)

If you're down for something longer, I would absolutely love feedback on my ongoing WIP! It's one of my few non-exchange fics and is my first attempt at sustaining a long plot — I would be really interested in hearing any thoughts on it. Please don't feel obligated to read the whole thing; up to wherever you want to stop is totally fine (and I'm also very interested in hearing when/why you decided to stop, if you drop it midway).
  • Memory of Dust (Genshin Impact, T, 18k - averages 2-4k per chapter, currently 5 chapters posted)

My works' fandoms and content notes are: Primarily Granblue Fantasy and Genshin Impact, which have 10+ works each; other fandoms include Original Work, Prince of Tennis, Idol Producer/Nine Percent, Fire Emblem Awakening and Kamen Rider Amazons, and have 1-2 works each. Content notes and archive warnings are tagged individually per fic. The explicit fics include works which feature consent issues or tagged incest pairings.

I have these questions for readers:
  • if you're familiar with the fandom, I'd be very interested in hearing any impressions on characterisation/voices/portrayal. I tend to vary characterisation and dynamics across different works, but are the characters internally consistent within the fic?
  • I would also love any feedback on titles, summaries and tags — do they seem relevant or interesting? Is there anything I've failed to tag for that should be tagged?
  • What do you find most memorable about the work, if anything? If nothing in particular sticks out, I'd like to hear that as well!
  • For fics with multiple scenes/more complex setups, is there anything confusing about the setup or plot, or something in the setting that seems to be underexplained? Do the scene breaks and transitions flow well, or are there any which feel abrupt/confusing?
  • I tend to write relatively similar kinks across the board. Does this come off as repetitive or same-y? Do the kink(s) overwhelm the characterisation? I write a lot of M/M porn and I worry sometimes about falling into the ATG/any two guys pit.
  • For explicit fics in general, is the porn engaging? Are there any points that fall flat or feel unsexy? Detail-wise, are there any notable inconsistent or confusing moments for things like limb placement, clothes, positioning, etc., or the opposite problem of over-concern with where things are?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: I'm interested in any impressions you have, including negative ones, as long as the feedback isn't purely negative. I would love to hear what worked for you alongside what didn't. If there are any aspects you think I could improve on, I'd be delighted to hear what they are!

Here are the works I want feedback on: Anything that's on my account.

My works' fandoms and content notes are: Small fandoms, mostly! I have works for Long Live the Queen, Stardew Valley, Final Fantasy II, and Golden Sun. All warnings should be listed in the tags.

I have these questions for readers:
    • If you know the fandom, did you think the characters were in-character and/or the themes went well with the canon?
    • Did the story flow well?
    • Did the characters, their motivations, and any growth seem believable to you?
    • Does anything seem vague or unexplained to the point of being confusing?
    • Did anything seem out of place, handled poorly, or take you out of the story?
    • Overall, did you enjoy the work?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: Any and all impressions for writing or art. Feedback about SPAG or style is welcome, too. Don't be afraid to be direct if something doesn't work for you, but I do need to hear specifics about why it didn't.

I want to receive feedback by: Comments on the published fics are the best, but if you prefer to be more private, the mods have my email, and my discord handle is egelantier#0472.

Here are the works I want feedback on: anything on [archiveofourown.org profile] egelantier is good to go!

There are several recent fics that are out of my usual wheelhouse and so I'd be very interested in feedback on them, but honestly anything goes, regardless of posting year:

give us a little love (TGE, Maia/Csethiro arranged marriage canon divergence AU)
create in me a clean heart (VME, fairly graphic hurt/comfort fic with crucifixion)
the rivers of the sky are dry (Narnia, ensemble)
lead me down to the dusty garden (FFXV, fairly graphic whump)

I have these questions for readers:
    - If somebody's read my earlier fics, I would really love to know if there's a visible change/progress in my writing over the years.
    - The other question I'm burningly curious about is whether the stories in different fandoms feel samey because my writing 'voice' - the cadence, the word choices, et cetera - overwhelms setting/characterization differences.
    - Is there a stylistic quirk / repeated pattern that feels really visible to you, in an inorganic way?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: Pretty much everything goes, including SPAG and stylistic, sentence-by-sentence feedback. I'm ESL, and I would be grateful for any comments here (I'm endlessly beholden to my betas for saving the readers from the worst of my comma and semicolon sins before they see the light of the day, but...).
It's fine to be blunt as long as there's an elaboration on what didn't/did work for you.

I want to receive feedback by : comment on this post or on AO3.

Here are the works I want feedback on: any fic on my AO3.

My works' fandoms and content notes are: Mostly small fandoms. Content warnings can be found in tags or notes. For book-based fics, I tend to follow the book's writing style, so some of them are deliberately flowery.

I have these questions for readers:
    • Repetitive stuff: do you notice any sentence structure/tics/tropes or anything else that I repeat, whether inside one fic or across different fics?
    • Any suggestions on what I could have done differently? Different directions, alternate POV, etc.
    • Do I explain things enough? Give enough context? Too obvious, too vague?
    • If you're familiar with any of the fandoms: are the characters in-character?
    • Anything else that comes to mind as you read!

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is
: I don't mind direct feedback, but please also tell me what I got right so I can keep doing it.

I want to receive feedback by: Comment on this post or directly on AO3!

Here are the works I want feedback on: any fic on my AO3 profile apart from Fields of Ash, To the Last Drop, and Stars and Stripes Forever. Here is a view with these works excluded. A few suggestions:

If you are feeling generous, I have two longfics of my heart that I wrote/am writing out of my own inspiration rather than to a prompt. I obviously would not expect concrit on either in its entirety. I'd be delighted with feedback up to whatever point you are willing to read.
    • Once A Runner (130K, Eyeshield 21) - This is the fic that inspired me to start writing again, after about a decade (!!) off, and is the reason every other story on my account even exists! While I absolutely poured my heart and soul into it, the writing gears were pretty rusty, and I'd love ideas for improvement, especially near the start, where I'm still trying to find my stride. The first 4 chapters together are about 5K words; the first 9 are 10K.
    • Solid As Stone (16K, Genshin Impact, explicit, incomplete) - After a bit more practice, I wrote this fic with an attempt at a more polished writing style. Feedback here would be super useful, as it is my active WIP. Each chapter is about 3-4K words.

My works' fandoms and content notes are: I mostly write Eyeshield 21, Genshin Impact, and Original Work. A lot of my fics deal with a power imbalance between the main characters, and many of my explicit works feature consent issues of varying degrees.

I have these questions for readers: It would be great to receive suggestions about pacing/story-telling, characterization, imagery... anything about the writing, really, I want to improve it all!

I'm always eager to know your reaction to my writing: how you felt about events and characters, whether you could visualize different settings and actions, any first impressions or takeaway feelings.

I'm pretty new to writing smut, so suggestions there would be helpful.

I would be very grateful to hear if there is a point where you lose interest in a work and drop off. I'm also keen for feedback about the frontmatter, such as titles, tags, and summaries.

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: If you are kind enough to provide feedback, I'll happily accept in any form. If you are trying to decide how to phrase things, I prefer direct over kind.

My personal preference is comment on this post, but I'm happy with any option you prefer (email - color.coding@yahoo.com, PM, comment on AO3, etc.).

Here are the works I want feedback on:
    Any of my works: https://archiveofourown.org/users/colorcoded/works/

My works' fandoms and content notes are:
Just a heads up that this account is my porn sock and so most of the works here are explicit and non-con. However, there's enough non-explicit work that you could stick entirely to that if you wanted. My main fandoms are various Disney, Soul Calibur, and some JRPGs and animanga.

    Feedback questions:
Some suggestions of things to focus on:
    • Detail/descriptions - Does the detail/description feel too sparse, or the pacing too quick?
    • Does the fic feel complete, or does the ending feel sudden or anti-climactic? Or does the fic feel like it does not express a complete "thought"? How would you change the fic to make it feel more coherent?
    • Titles and summaries - are they working? Could they be improved? Did you want to click on them or were they meh? Should they focus on something else?
    • For porn, is it sexy? How's the build-up? Anything throwing you out of the fic?
    • General writing - Point out any issues with awkward or confusing phrasings, repetitive words or paragraphs, poor word choice, etc. Any confusions where what's going on with the character or the logic of the story is unclear?
    • Any suggestions for remixing or going a different direction with the fic? Missed opportunities to do something more with the fic, etc.?
    • Anything you liked, what is working in the fic, any reactions you had (positive, negative, or neutral).

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: Blunt and brutally honest is fine, but I need some encouragement as well. For example, getting a list of 20 issues with the fic and no positivity would be discouraging for me. If there's a lot of issues with the fic, feel free to pick the most major ones to focus on - that's still useful to me. I think my fics are pretty clean SPAG-wise, but please feel free to flag issues.

    REQUESTS | Getting feedback

I want to receive feedback by:
Comment where the work is published (AO3 preferred)

Here are the works I want feedback on:

    Continental Divides

    Fandom: Pokemon

    Rating: Teen

Content warnings: rated for language, alcohol and tobacco, implied (off-screen) sex, violence, and small amounts of blood. It’s also very much a story about politics and civil unrest.

Genre tags: political intrigue, action/adventure, crime, realism, romance (enemies to lovers slow burn, though there's little more than some flirting; it's mostly literal burning right now)

Summary: “You could make a difference if you really wanted to.” Natalie and Mark quickly find themselves on opposite sides of a deadly turf war, and more than their own lives are at stake.
    (OC-centric Aqua/Magma AU.)

One chapter is fine! The first few chapters are each 5k words or less.

I'm open to receiving crit on other works posted on AO3, but Divides is my preference.

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is:
Literally anything offered in good faith is great. Tell me things you liked, things you didn't, anything that confused you, what you thought of characters, etc etc.
I don't always make changes based on suggestions, but I often do! (Never not editing.)

I prefer to get feedback as comments on AO3.

Users who are already caught up:
    An Author's Pen, kintsugi
(They've already given me lots of feedback and should not be assigned to me!)
