Thanks everyone for posting so many pieces of feedback and letting me know where to check them off.

This round is not quite over as we have pinch hitters working on feedback for people who have not yet received two pieces of constructive criticism. Thanks to everyone who expressed interest.

Other treats for participants are very welcome!

Please get in touch if you have not received two pieces of feedback, or if there's another issue such as your concrit-giver choosing a safe work. (morbane, gmail)

I want to receive feedback by : On Ao3, though I don't mind if you want to duplicate it over here as well. (Duplicating it here's probably easier from a mod perspective as well.) I'm fine with anon comments.

Here are the works I want feedback on:

I knew what I was getting into when I said your name, but I said it just the same, Lucifer TV, 4,316 words, on-going.
Such Things as False Truths and Honest Lies, The Witcher, complete.
The Lindworm, The Witcher, 6,425 words, complete.
In the Witch's Tower, The Witcher, 1,201 words, complete.
Yenna, The Witcher, 20,555 words, complete. Ch1-6 is 10k.
The Sun Shines Differently, The Witcher/Dragon Age crossover, 1,113 words, one-shot series.
Encore, Castlevania show, 71,002 words, ongoing. Ch1-4 is 10k.
Disfigured, Pokemon, 1,750 words, complete.
With joy shall I behold the day, that calls my willing soul away, Pokemon, 939 words, complete.
The Point of No Return, Pokemon, 8,060 words, complete.
Another Verse, Pokemon, 80,066 words, ongoing. Ch1 is around 8k.
The Best It Could've Gone, She-Ra, 2,488 words, complete.
Advice for Daughters, Chemical Garden Trilogy, 4,573 words, complete.

Or a lot of other things found here.

For the multi-chapter ones, I'm fine with a comment on a chapter rather than the whole.

My works' fandoms and content notes are:
Mild gore, character death, abuse, science and biology heavy.

I have these questions for readers:

I'm most interested hearing whatever stood out to you.

I often go in an odd direction from canon but I do really like canon as a base. If you're familiar with a fandom, I'd like to know what you thought of how I characterized people or if there's something I missed in worldbuilding. And I value things hanging together in general, so even if you're fandom blind I'd like to hear how much the world/people/plot makes sense to you.

A number of my stories involve mildly unreliable narrators - ones who aren't lying, but whose viewpoints strongly color what they think is happening. I'm curious how well that works and your impression of the characters/situation.

I find rephrasing a sentence or giving examples of another way to handle a plot element very helpful for understanding what people mean when they point out a problem they've seeing.

For Another Verse in particular, the main character is meant to be walking a line where she wants other people hurt but she's limited in her actions to what's socially acceptable. I think I've been too conservative about what she could get away with and want to rework that. Advice on how she could be worse would be great.

I wrote Advice for Daughters a while ago and was thinking of going back over it again. As it's expected to be read pretty fandom-blind, I'm particularly curious what it sounds like is going on.

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is:

Blunt is fine. If you liked something, I'm happy to hear it, but if you have nothing nice to say, I'm happy to hear that too.

I want to receive feedback by : whatever method you prefer, including comments here and on the works themselves

Here are the works I want feedback on (optional: and my safe works are...):

Any +1K fic posted from May 2021 on. FE:3H fic can be found here: https://archiveofourown.org/users/Shipwreck_Mary/works

My works' fandoms and content notes are: F/F, F/M, M/M, gen. All ratings. Fandoms are mostly Steve/Tony in several universes with some Fire Emblem 3H het and Star Trek Discovery fic. Then Dragon Age, Violet Evergarden, Spiritfarer, Saint Seiya, Love Nikki and Taylor Swift songs.

A lot of my Explicit fic is dubcon or CNTW.

I have these questions for readers:

I'm not expecting answers to all of these! Just some pointers.

General questions:
- Are there any moments where the story makes a jump you don't quite follow? I've always had an issue with assuming the reader is in my head and not explaining things enough.
- How do the endings work? Are they too sudden? Does the tension deflate?
- How is the paratext working: titles, summaries, tags? Is it accurate?
- Are the narrative voices in different fics distinctive?
- How are the metaphors and similes working? Too elaborate? Too trite? if they're working, how or why?

For explicit fics:
- How is the writing of the physical sensations? The sensuality, I guess
- How is the description of the orgasms working? Is it climax-y enough?

For fic with weird structure like Stored Dreams, Flowing Through the Dreams of Time, and Hometown Skeptics (the TS one):
- Is it ever TOO confusing?
- How does the mixed media elements work in Hometown Skeptics?

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: I don't mind getting blunt feedback, but I do prefer it if there's also some praise alongside it.

(email, Dreamwidth, Discord handle) is:

OFFERS | Giving feedback

I'm interested in giving feedback on [delete irrelevant options]:
-Specific extracts, including drafts
-My choice of an author's published works

I will not read the following content: ... [for example, E or M ratings; infidelity; eye gore]

I'm familiar with these fandoms: ...
[As well as listing specific fandoms - or if listing them is a hassle - maybe say if you're more likely to be familiar with fandoms in a particular category, like live-action Western TV, or JRPGs, or YA books.]

My preferred style of feedback is: ... [Please describe how you hope to approach feedback, especially in terms of tact, bluntness, praise, or focusing on areas of improvement. For example, "Don't match me to someone who only wants to hear about flaws - I want to talk about what I enjoyed as well," or "Please match me to someone who welcomes blunt feedback - it's easier for me to communicate if I'm not anxious about damaging confidence with an awkward phrase," or "Please send first-time crit-seekers to me - encouragement is my strong suit," or "I can adapt my style to my recipient's preferences, but I naturally fall closer to the direct end of feedback than the gentle end." You won't get a perfect match but I hope to avoid total clashes.]

Other notes about what I'd like to give concrit on: ...
[For example, if you'd rather give detailed line-by-line feedback on shorter works, or answer specific questions on longer works (up to 10k? longer, up to 50k?), or you have preferred genres you'd like to read even if you can't be matched by fandom.]

Here's a text box of the Giving Feedback sections to fill in, if you like

Copy what's in the text box into your comment and then fill it out if you find that more convenient than copying from above.

Please choose one of the following four options, and delete the three that don't apply:
1 - I don't want feedback - I'm signing up to offer concrit only. (Obviously you don't have to fill in the rest! Thank you!)
2 - I will make a post to the community that includes all the Getting Feedback details requested here. (Please make your post as soon as convenient after commenting with the offer details above.)
3 - I want my request to appear as a post on the community, but I can't post it. I've filled in the Getting Feedback details below for the mod to post for me.
4 - I don't want my request to appear publicly; I'd rather the mod share it only with my assigned crit-givers. I've filled in the Getting Feedback details below for the mod /OR/ I will email the Getting Feedback details to the mod at morbane@gmail.com.

If you choose 3 or 4, please fill in the rest of the information. If you choose 1 or 2, you can stop your comment here.

REQUESTS | Getting feedback

I want to receive feedback by [choose all that suit you]:
-Email
-Discord PM
-Comment on my DW post in this community
-Comment where the work is published (AO3, ff.net, LJ)
-Other [specify]

Here are the works I want feedback on (optional: and my safe works are...):
[if you're including long extracts in a post, please consider using cuts]
[If you plan to link to something like an AO3 or ff.net profile, or journal, please say which works you are or aren't interested in getting feedback on (ie, anything complete and written after 2016? Anything except for specific "safe" works?)]

Fandoms and content notes:
[If you want feedback on unpublished pieces, or pieces that don't otherwise have content tags, please say what fandoms they're in and also include notes on whether they include major character death, gore/violence, rape, noncon, or dubcon, underage sex, incest, or other content that may be offputting. I may also send you questions about more specific content before matching you with your concrit-givers. If your works are published to a site with tags or where they have content notes already, you don't need to repeat that information for this question.]

Feedback questions:
[If you have general questions about your writing that could apply to any of your works, or, if you are asking for feedback on specific works or extracts, please include any questions you have! Ie: does the ending work, were the characters' motivations clear, did the twist make sense in retrospect, did you like the descriptions…]

The style of feedback I prefer to receive is: ... [Please describe what style of feedback would be ideal. For example, "Please focus on where I can improve - don't worry about sugarcoating your criticism," or "I would appreciate gentle feedback; don't lie to me, but please be kind," or "I'm interested in getting your general impressions at all - good or bad. However, some cushioning when describing what you didn't like would be good." You will not get a perfect match, but I hope to avoid total clashes. You may also want to indicate how interested you are in spelling and grammar fixes.]
