skara: (purple clouds)
[personal profile] skara

I want to receive feedback by: comment on this post, on the fic itself, or send an email to: to at skara.casa (yes, the first half of my email is that short ;D)

Here are the works I want feedback on: Any of the works posted under [archiveofourown.org profile] skaralding are fair game. I am particularly interested in getting feedback on: Figurine, in Reality (HP, 5k), The Return of ANBU Weasel (Naruto, 5k), Unravelling Aymeric (FFXIV, 9k) and bloom (Naruto, 29k)

Work fandoms and content notes: The fandoms I write in are mainly Original Work, Naruto, FFXIV and Harry Potter. I tag my fics pretty thoroughly; incest, rape, underage, graphic violence and character death are my most frequently used warnings. If you want an extra heads up before diving into any of my fics, let me know.

I have these questions for readers: [Questions for specific works] )

[Questions for all my fics in general] )

I would prefer gentle (5) or direct (1) feedback, or something in between: 3 please :D

Comments are unscreened.

I want to receive feedback by: Comment on my DW post in this community, ideally. If for any reason you don't feel comfortable doing it publicly my Discord handle is SaltWife98#6608

Here are the works I want feedback on: https://archiveofourown.org/users/amitye/works my safe works would be the Inheritance Cycle fics, the second chapter of "You don't know what love is" and "love can tell a million stories".

My works' fandoms and content notes are: It's all tagged, tell me if you have any questions! The fandoms are Romeo and Juliet, War and Peace/Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812,Six of Crows and Carrie

I have these questions for readers: (highly optional, I'm perfectly fine with your spontaneous impression) Is there anything that would make you close the fic without finishing? Does the dialogue flow well? Does the pacing work? If you choose to comment on a longer (10k+) work, would this be better if it was shorter and do you have any advice on how to avoid this sort of word count bloating?

I would prefer gentle (5) or direct (1) feedback, or something in between: mhh maybe around a 2-3? As long as you aren't straight up insulting I'm good with everything

I want to receive feedback by: Where the work is published. I'm fine with anon comments.

Here are the works I want feedback on
Yenna, The Witcher show, 20,322 words, complete
The Sun Shines Differently, The Witcher/Dragon Age crossover, 1,113 words, one-shot series.
Encore, Castlevania show, 63,546 words, ongoing.
Sundown and the Shedding-Skin Woman, Pokemon, 3,056 words, complete.
The Point of No Return, Pokemon, 8,060 words, complete.
Another Verse, Pokemon, 80,066 words, ongoing.
The Best It Could've Gone, She-Ra, 2,488 words, complete.

Absolutely not opposed to comments on anything else, even the ancient stuff at the very back, but those are what I'm most interested in hearing about.

My works' fandoms and content notes are

Mild gore, character death, abuse.

I have these questions for readers

Largely, I'm interested in hearing whatever comes to mind - if what stands out to you is not at all what I intended, then that's on me and now I know! But specific things would be what do you think of the characters, why do you think they're doing what they're doing and does it make sense, are they right/wrong/good/evil? A number of my fics are also somewhat puzzle-y in nature and I'd like to know which, if any, clues you noticed in advance.

If a particular phrase or sentence doesn't work for you, I would appreciate a suggested rephrasing of it if one comes to mind. I find that incredibly helpful to understand where the sentence went wrong for someone.

I would prefer gentle (5) or direct (1) feedback, or something in between

Direct is fine.

I want to receive feedback by: Either by comment on my post here, Discord PM (ictus#9826), or email (nonanonamcbiba@gmail.com).

Here are the works I want feedback on: Anything I've published at my AO3. Safe fandom: Voltron: Legendary Defender. Safe work: all they do is watch us kill.

My works' fandoms and content notes are: DC Comics, Umbrella Academy (TV), Star Trek: AOS, Inception, Hannibal, Fight Club, Birds of Prey (2020). All of my fic is tagged appropriately, but in general there is canon-typical violence/disturbing themes for a lot of my fandoms (DC Comics, Hannibal, Fight Club). My Umbrella Academy fic contains sibling incest and references to drug addiction.

I have these questions for readers: I would love your general impressions on prose, characterisation (if you're not familiar with the fandom, I would like to know if it's internally consistent/if the character's motivations are clear), plot, and execution. Also whether or not I strike the balance between "too descriptive" and "too sparse" in my writing. Most of my fics are short and consist of a single scene, but for longer works with a more developed plot, I would love feedback on the pacing and whether you think the plot/character arcs were well-developed. Feedback on title, summary, tags, etc. is also welcome. These aspects are just a jumping-off point so don't feel as though you have to touch on everything, but generally speaking I would like your honest opinion on what did and did not work for you, even if it's not something I've mentioned here.

I would prefer gentle (5) or direct (1) feedback, or something in between: Anywhere between a 2 and a 5 would work for me!

Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback, I'll respond in the coming days. This post is now closed for additional concrit, thank you!

I want to receive feedback by:
-Comment on my DW post in this community
-DW private message is also fine

Here are the works I want feedback on (optional: and my safe works are...): AO3, anything except my safe works, which are any Doctor Who and Torchwood fic and my one Bad Bang fic (since it was intentionally bad)

My works' fandoms and content notes are:
Fandoms are mostly big TV/movie fandoms plus some Yuletide-sized fandoms. Fandoms I have more than 2 fics for: Star Trek AOS, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pitch Perfect, The Magicians (TV), MCU, Fringe (TV)

Content notes: I write a lot of porn. I do have G and T rated stuff that would be great to get crit on as well, but porn is my primary thing. The things I end up warning for most often are medium levels of violence/gore and dubcon of various flavors (aliens made them do it, intoxicated characters, etc). Most of my fic is either No Warnings Apply or CNTW + any non-archive warnings will be in an A/N.

I have these questions for readers: General impressions and thoughts, plus: I know I use a ton of comma splices and long sentences. Is that distracting? Do I vary my sentence structure enough? If you're reading across several works, are there particular writing tics you notice that just keep showing up or are distracting?

I would prefer gentle (5) or direct (1) feedback, or something in between: 3-4, medium to gentle-ish.
